Sarah Wisialowski
Sarah Wisialowski is a Biblicist focusing on the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls, with particular attention to liturgy, time, and trauma.
Beginning in Autumn 2026, Dr. Wisialowski will be a Dan David Fellow at Tel Aviv University. She previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Einstein Center Chronoi, funded by the Einstein Foundation Berlin.
Having received her doctorate in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament at Oriel College, University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Hindy Najman, she studies time, prayer, and liturgy in ancient Judaism.
After completing an MA(Hons) at the University of St Andrews, an MA at King’s College London, and an MSt at the University of Oxford, Sarah began her doctorate in 2020. Her research focuses on how the language of prayer interacts with notions of time in the books of Nehemiah and Daniel. She explores how prayer is used to understand or control time.
